Jon E. Eliassen Jon E. Eliassen
President and Chief Executive Officer

Jon Eliassen was appointed President and CEO of Red Lion Hotels Corporation on February 8, 2011.  He has been a director of the company since September 2003. Mr. Eliassen was President and CEO of the Spokane Area Economic Development Council from 2003 until 2007. Mr. Eliassen retired in 2003 from his position as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Avista Corp., a publicly-traded diversified utility. Mr. Eliassen spent 33 years at Avista, including the last 16 years as its Chief Financial Officer. While at Avista, Mr. Eliassen was an active participant in development of a number of successful subsidiary company operations including technology related startups Itron, Avista Labs and Avista Advantage. Mr. Eliassen serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Itron Corporation, serves as a member of the Board of Directors of IT Lifeline, Inc, and is the principal of Terrapin Capital Group, LLC.  Mr. Eliassen's corporate accomplishments are complemented by his extensive service to the community in roles which have included director and President of the Spokane Symphony Endowment Fund, director of The Heart Institute of Spokane, Washington State University Research Foundation, Washington Technology Center, Spokane Intercollegiate Research and Technology Institute and past director of numerous other organizations and energy industry associations.

 

George Schweitzer George Schweitzer
Executive VP and Chief Operating Officer, Hotel Operations

George Schweitzer has served as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, Hotel Operations since November 2009 and is a member of the senior management team for RLH. He has nearly 30 years of experience in the hospitality industry.  George joined RLH in April 2008 as Senior Vice President, Hotel Operations. In 2001, George founded LaborSage, Inc., which developed labor scheduling software.  His company was subsequently sold to UniFocus, L.P. out of Dallas, TX in August, 2006.  Mr. Schweitzer was the President of the VenQuest Hotel Group, based in Irvine, CA and Vice President Operations for Sunstone Hotels. Prior to that, George was a Regional Vice President for Red Lion Hotels & Inns for 12 years.  George is a Certified Hotel Administrator with a background in Business Administration. He attended the University of Montana, California State University Long Beach and UCLA.

Julie Shiflett Julie Shiflett
Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer

Julie Shiflett was appointed Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer beginning September 1, 2011. Ms. Shiflett has been with Red Lion Hotels since October 2010 when she was hired under a contract to serve as Vice President of Finance.  She is a principal of NW CFO, a financial consulting company she founded in 2008 which assists emerging and mid-market companies with activities including strategic planning, forecasting, and recapitalization. She served as Chief Financial Officer of Signature Genomic Laboratories in Spokane, Washington, in 2009 and 2010.  Prior to that, Shiflett was Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Columbia Paint and Coatings from 2006 to 2009 and Vice President of Finance and Administration of Riley Creek Lumber Company from 2001 until  2006.  Her accounting career began at Coopers & Lybrand in Spokane.  Ms. Shiflett also currently serves on the Board of Directors for an $8 billion financial institution, a chemical manufacturing company and a regional hospital.

Harry G. Sladich Harry G. Sladich
Executive Vice President, Sales and Marketing

Harry Sladich serves as Executive Vice President of Sales, Marketing and Distribution for Red Lion Hotels Corporation.  A 34 year veteran of the hospitality industry, in 2005, Sladich was named President and CEO of the Spokane Regional Convention and Visitors Bureau where he played a key role in building and selling the Washington State image.  Prior to the Spokane CVB, Sladich was Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Sterling Hospitality, hotel developers and operators of several franchises including Holiday Inn Express, Hampton Inn and Quality Inn.  Before working for Sterling Hospitality, he was General Manager of Hotel Lusso, an upscale boutique hotel in Spokane, and was Vice President of National Sales for Guestmark International (GMI), a national hotel marketing company based in Boston.  Mr. Sladich has also worked for Sheraton Hotels in both hotel operations and food and beverage. Sladich was recently named Director at Large for U.S. Travel Association. In addition, Washington State Governor Christine Gregoire appointed Sladich to the Motion Picture Competitiveness board and to the Washington State Convention Center Board of Directors.  He has also served on the board for the Western Association of Convention & Visitors Bureaus (WACVB).
David Barbieri David Barbieri
Senior Vice President & Chief Information Officer

David Barbieri has been with our company since 1996 and serves as Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer.  Mr. Barbieri is a member of the senior management team for Red Lion Hotels Corporation and is responsible for the company's information technology initiatives ranging from network and application infrastructure to Internet-based application design and e-commerce.  Mr. Barbieri is also responsible for the company’s sustainability programs and corporate facilities, design, and construction initiatives.  Before joining our company, Mr. Barbieri worked as an engineer for a data backup hardware manufacturing company.

Richard P. Carlson Richard P. Carlson
Senior Vice President, Lodging Development

Rich Carlson was appointed Senior Vice President, Lodging Development in March, 2010 and also serves as a member of the senior management team for RLH.  Mr. Carlson comes to our company with a wealth of experience.  Since March 2009, he served as Vice President with Summit Capital, being primarily responsible for arranging real estate financing for hotel owners.  Prior to Summit Capital, Mr. Carlson served as Vice President, Lodging Development for Marriott International.  He was responsible for development of Marriott’s select service and extended stay brands in Southern California, Southern Nevada, Arizona and New Mexico, where he added over 60 hotels, with 7,900 rooms and a net present value of over $80 million through franchising and management contracts.  He worked extensively with hotel owners, brokers, consultants, architects and other professionals to increase Marriott’s brand distribution in the Pacific Southwest. Prior to Marriott, Mr. Carlson worked with Insignia ESG Hotel Partners as Managing Director, where he represented clients such as LaSalle Hotel Properties, Sunburst Hospitality, Archon, Sunterra and Pacifica Companies marketing and selling hotel assets nationwide.  He was also Director of Acquisitions for Sunburst Hospitality with responsibility for all phases of site acquisition, including feasibility, contract negotiation and entitlement, and Director of Development for Chartwell Leisure and Forte Hotels where his responsibilities included asset management, feasibility and market planning, and development for Travelodge, Thriftlodge, the Forte Grand Collection and Hilton Garden Inns.
Krisann Hatch Krisann Hatch
Senior Vice President, Human Resources

Currently the Senior Vice President, Human Resources, Krisann Hatch has been with Red Lion Hotels Corporation (formerly WestCoast Hospitality) since October 2002 and is a member of the senior management team.  In her role in Human Resources, she is responsible for strategic management, training & development, performance management, workforce planning & analysis, policy implementation and interpretation, employee relations, recruitment & selection, benefits administration, compensation, and legal compliance including affirmative action.  Prior to joining WestCoast Hospitality in 2002, Ms. Hatch had been with Hilton Hotels for 13 years, starting her hotel career in 1989 with Red Lion Hotels and serving in the role of Director of Human Resources at six different hotels throughout the Pacific Northwest and through a variety of hotel mergers - from Red Lion to Doubletree to Promus to Hilton.  In 1999, she was promoted to the position of Regional Director of Human Resources with Hilton Hotels, responsible for a group of hotels that included the Red Lion portfolio.  Ms. Hatch is a Senior Professional, Human Resources through the Human Resources Certification Institute, served on the Board of the Spokane Chapter of the Northwest Human Resources Management Association (now INSHRM) and is a current Board Director for the Inland Northwest Big Brothers Big Sisters organization.

Sandra J. Heffernan Sandra J. Heffernan
Senior Vice President, Corporate Controller

Sandra J. Heffernan is currently the Senior Vice President, Corporate Controller of Red Lion Hotels Corporation. Prior to Red Lion, she served as Senior Director of Financial Accounting & Reporting for NightHawk Radiology Holdings, Inc., a public company based in Coeur d'Alene, ID. She previously worked in key accounting and financial positions, including Controller and Assistant Controller roles, for various public companies and private organizations. Ms. Heffernan has been employed by several notable companies, including PepsiCo Food Systems, Dell Computer Corporation and the National Football League.  As Senior Vice President, Corporate Controller for Red Lion, Ms. Heffernan directs all accounting and reporting functions for the company, is responsible for internal controls and is a key member of the team that manages outside banking and audit relationships.  She graduated from Texas A&M University in 1992 with a BBA in Finance and graduated from the University of Texas at Dallas in 1996 with an MS in Accounting.  Ms. Heffernan is a Certified Public Accountant, licensed in Washington State.

Thomas L. McKeirnan Thomas L. McKeirnan
Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary

Tom McKeirnan has been our Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary since February 2005 and is a member of the senior management team. Prior to that he served as Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary from January 2004 through February 2005 and Vice President, Assistant General Counsel from July 2003 to January 2004. Prior to joining us, Mr. McKeirnan was a partner at the Spokane, Washington law firm of Paine Hamblen Cofflin Brooke & Miller, LLP from January 2002 until July 2003 and an associate attorney at the same firm from 1999 to 2001. Mr. McKeirnan was also an associate attorney with the Seattle, Washington law firm of Riddell Williams P.S. from 1995 until 1999. Mr. McKeirnan's private legal practice has focused on corporate, transactional, real estate and securities law, with an emphasis on the hospitality industry. While in private practice, Mr. McKeirnan represented us as outside counsel on various strategic and transactional matters and also represented WestCoast Hotels, Inc. prior to our acquisition of that company.

Kenneth Shore Kenneth Shore
Senior Vice President, Food & Beverage

Kenneth Shore was appointed Senior Vice President of Food and Beverage for Red Lion Hotels Corporation in 2011.  He started with the company in 2010 as a Regional Vice President of Hotel Operations.  Prior to joining Red Lion Hotels, Mr. Shore was General Manager with Rock Resorts, where he managed several facilities in Jackson Hole, Wyoming.  In addition, he was President of Le Cordon Bleu in Portland, Oregon, Vice President and Managing Director of Greenfield Group and Group President for Gibbs College, a division of Career Education Corporation.  In his position with Gibbs College, Mr. Shore managed 12 multi-unit locations in seven states, overseeing $135 million in revenue, 1,500 employees and 6,000 customers.  His responsibilities have included strategic planning and managing business unit teams in the oversight of their finance, operations and marketing.  Mr. Shore brings more than 18 years of hospitality experience to Red Lion Hotels, including experience as a Certified Working Chef with a degree from the Culinary Institute of America.  He is actively involved in the Washington Restaurant Association and Treasurer for the Washington Restaurant Association Education Foundation.
